Happy And Prosperous New Year 2007
Hey, how're you doing? I just got back from a week long rest and relax trip in Thailand. Well, not exactly relaxing as our schedule was packed and both me and wife had attended 2 weddings in Malaysia and 1 trip in Thailand for fun. Pretty busy schedule I would say even on our vacation ;)
Here's a snapshot of just one of the many places we visited in Thailand. A reminder of why I simply love doing this online business!
It's called Wat-Arun and it's found among the river Chao Phraya. You should go there one day if you were ever in Thailand. Take a taste of the hard (unripened) but sweet mangoes for a small price.
Many things have happened when I was on vacation such as the earthquake in Taiwan which affects the broadband or optical cable connecting the internet between some major Asian countries and some weird flash floods in Johor, Malaysia.
All I want to say is that if you who are not affected by these circumstances, you are really under God's protection. My heart goes out to you if your loved ones or you are involved in this tragic happenings.
I will be updating my blog more frequently in the coming days and weeks ahead as you can see I'm back and ready to roll from my week long vacation. There's no stopping now and I can only see great things happening for me and my team in Success University.

As I'm writing this post I always think about why are we doing this throughout the night and sometimes even glued to the monitor doing some internet marketing. I've finally discovered a few things and would like to share them with you.
Let's start with a story...
Average people just goes home (after a long day) and retire to their lazy couch or even rocking chair and so forth taking time off by watching TV, talking with their friends and so forth. No offence, just being candid about life as I was there once! You're not excluded, think about it.. how many hours in your 'free' time do you devote in this internet business of yours? or rather quality time?
Me, I spend about 1-2 hours a day at least to commit the time to spend on this business simply because of this. I have a winner mindset and I do know that winning is always an attitude before the actual glory. A winner thinks differently. For instance, Colonel Sanders knew that he was old (about the age of 62) but he still made a fortune by his famous Kentucky Fried Chicken Recipe! Another favourite philosopher of mine, Albert Einstein never, ever gave up after so many counts.
So, here's the points to being in a winner mindset:
1. Never Ever Give Up! (no matter how hard or demoralizing it is...) 2. Be Committed To Your Success (treat your business like a real business) 3. Adjust Your Lifestyle (you may need to start doing a few good habits)
Just these three points seems pretty brief but they are really my formulae to success. Always hold on to point #1. Even if sometimes, times seem really really dark and there's no way out (yet) and you feel like you are at the edge of a cliff.
That is exactly when you will realise "hey, I'm really testing my own ability limitations to it's fullest!". You will instantly be transformed to a higher level of character and mental capacity.
That's called overcoming the challenges in life. Successful people weren't born successful, they were made, conditioned and rose from their past failures and pushed themselves on toward the goal.

It's time to get into the real deal of the World Internet Summit 2006. It was a truly great time to be able to meet these cool internet marketers from around the globe there but nothing beats taking back a piece of the inspiration and ideas from it.
Every participant who goes to this event actually is given a nice notebook. A ring bound type, in case you were wondering; here's the catch. It had blank pages!
You'd probably say "alright, so you're playing with my imagination, Vern" . As a matter of fact, I'm telling you the truth that this book was totally empty except for the initial programme outline in the first few pages and then some speakers name on the header of each Day. But that's it.
However, we're going not to talk about how 'fancy' the book is to me. Rather, I'm going to reveal to you that among most of the speakers the one which I literally had my fingers scribbling away on my book was Mr. Michael Cheney. If you do a google search or an alexa ranking check up on his name, I'm sure you'll find some pretty credible figures. Here's a quick credibiliy on him. He has about 59,000 subscribers in his list. Now, thats impressive.
Without the need to dwelve into the details I'm going to post directly an outline on what I learned. This is taken raw from my notes so forgive me, if it looks pretty amatuerish ;)
How To Grow Your Own Lucrative List
Building a list is like buliding a 10 piece jigsaw. You can't literally complete the big picture of one of the pieces of the jigsaw is missing. Here's just 2 quick keys to buildling your list.
Key #1 : Why is it important to build your own list?
You will make more money online if you have a list. Also, you can make more money online on Adsense if you have a list.
Reason #1 = You can make money on demand Reason #2 = You are future proofing your success for the long term Reason #3 = You can harness the power of your list to change the world
Key #2 : The money is in the ______
Wrong. I knew what you were going to say. It's 'list' right ? Not true. I thought so too and Micheal just blew my mind off the face of the World Internet Summit Convention hall by dispelling this myth.
In actual fact, the money is NOT in the list. The money is in what you do to the list. People will not buy anything from you unless they trust you. Trust is built gradually and not overnight. Think of doing this like building stepping stones between you and your prospect or customer.
At a closing note for this first summary, I quote Michael Cheney, my great teacher and guide for internet marketing....
"You need to constantly Educate, Enthuse and Encourage people on your list"

It's probably been sometime since the World Internet Summit 2006 and I'd just like to update you with my experience with my being there. It was an interesting time and I'd really encourage anyone with a "passion" for internet marketing in anyway to go there when you have a chance. Yes, the tickets does cost but you see - it's all worth it. Just don't go and hope that your pot of gold is there. Make sure you'll treat it as a full learning experience to expand your mind and your ideas.
As such I'd like to present you with a few pictures of me and some top internet marketing 'Gurus' I met and had a chance to dicuss a little. I have some comments but please try to understand that these fine gentlemen are quite pressed for time so I could only 'tap' a little into their minds.
First off, Stephen Pierce the nice "big guy" above towering above me is a favourite for his well-known value added package. He gave his 1-year coaching program with some cool software and ebooks. For a little more than SGD$2600 you'd be rewarded to also be included into his exlusive "Asia Hot Group" (kinda like an asian support group). I had a chance to ask:
Vern : Stephen, I know you earn LOTS of cash. Like in the billions. Why are you offering such a low amount for at this particular World Internet Summit 2006?
Stephen: Well, I believe in value-added packages which will cater for everyone and with that extra money my students save, they will indeed get to spend it on their own marketing campaigns.
Willie Crawford is a person I really respect because of his humbleness in being himself and not conforming to the world. The reason I say this is because I'm in his list and his emails are really top-notch quality content. I advise you to just subscribe and check it out yourself. This person made 6 figure incomes by just selling his e-cookbook. He's like a real father figure. What can I say? He's already a happy grandfather.
Dave Cavanaugh as seen in the picture above as the bubbly looking character is indeed him. One unique aspect that impressed me is that he is within reach for Asians. He now resides in Thailand with his lovely wife and kids. His presentation was precisely targetted as giving everything from starting to research a profitable market online and then banking in on it. Again, he's a real coach if you want to be personal.
Need I say more... I found in the first impression Jo Han Mok our pure Singaporean bred internet marketer is not only easy to approach but very talented in copywriting. He is a master as this skill and you better learn from him if you want to be effective at direct response marketing. His latest feat was to make a really hynotic sales page for a sex product "Hot Rod". Take a guess. (you can see he looks pretty jolly).
The dynamic duo and legends of internet marketing from Singapore (can I say trio?) Jo Han Mok, me and Ewen Chia. Ewen as you can see at the most right of this picture, is a calm and nice person. At first glance he seems hard to approach as he looks a little serious but if you really take the time to talk to him, you'll find that he's just a very down-to-earth person. Ewen really puts the meaning of "hardwork pays" into my mind. He took 5 years to acheive being in a millionaire status.

This latest discovery of mine just makes me go crazy. Now we will have more interactivity than ever. Of course, you have heard of online calls and skype and that sort of stuff. This is something different. You don't need the PC. Well, you do with Jajah but you are spared the torture of having to put up with PC microphones and good headsets to make your calls clearer.

Make the call and watch the miracle happens as your phone rings and you get connected to your friend. Talk for free with your hats off!
